Design and simulation of a novel fungus-shaped center embossed diaphragm for fiber optic pressure sensors

A novel structure with a fungus-shaped center embossed diaphragm (FCED) geometry has been proposed to modify in diaphragm-based Fabry-Perot fiber optic pressure sensors (FP-FOPS). The FCED was obtained by adding pillar between the mesa and diaphragm. Before simulation analysis of FCED, we derived mathematical equations attenuation factor widening acceptance radius. is defined understand sensor loss, which neglected literature. With this formula, light reflected from deflected unguided detected. Since deformation angle zeroized structures, loss due eliminated. All incident being re-guided fiber. design’s help, decreasing sensitivity diaphragms (CED) prevented. Moreover, deviation frequency response remains lower than 1% compared results conventional diaphragms. As result, it produces more stable sensor, less affected manufacturing errors. researchers can benefit use our presented when designing producing new FP-FOPS.
